collections

This collection is an ongoing project that I started working on for my personal portfolio. The hope for this collection and all future collections is to continue to learn and understand the craftsmanship that goes into designing garments.  Follow the blog to see how the collection is coming along! 

One of my 2016 New Year's Resolutions was to design and wear an outfit to wear to special occasions.  This dress was worn to the first event of the year- a wedding of a college friend.   

The Roaring 20's Collection was designed for my interview with Rag & Bone.  

Rag & Bone has a very unique aesthetic and typically has a more neutral color palette.  For this collection, I wanted to stay in line with their silhouettes, but wanted to inject color and a bit of my own personality.

This collection was inspired by Dita Von Teese.  What I love about her is her classic and feminine style.  She is someone who knows her body and knows what works well for her.  I wanted to use very rich brocades and boucle fabrics for this collection.  

This collection was inspired by Christian Dior's New Look & bows.  I wanted these gowns to be more architectural, think Frank Gehry, rather than taking the bows too literally.  

The Life Cycle of the Butterfly Collection looks at all the stages of the butterfly's life: egg, cocoon, caterpillar, and butterfly.  Texture and color was the focus of the collection.
